Are you ready for the Stuffing?

In today's day and age we are all worried about the "stuffing" with all these fad diets and "all natural" everything... are we really living as healthy as we should? I mean think about it we all have so much caffeine and can hardly sleep at night... as we scroll thru our Facebook news feed and everyone's post is INSOMNIA...I CANT SLEEP!!! Have we thought about maybe changing our ways losing the stuffing and getting some rest?

Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK PEOPLE!! While thanksgiving really is one of my favorite holidays I really feel horrible after! I ate enough for 17 people and I cant even stand up and I am in a turkey a coma! (like how healthy can that truly be?)  So as i gear up to get my fat pants ready I am also going to do my best to eat for one! (because it might not be all about the bass, lol)
THIS IS WHAT I AM WEARING TO THANKSGIVING!!!
Here is what I am going to do to ensure I will look human when I go on my cruise on Dec 14th!
I like to eat, so this will be HARD!

One of the biggest things I try to work out is my BUTT!

I hate doing the work out but the results can be great!

LUNGES!!!! Doing 2 is alright then it becomes serious business and the buns HURT! Here is a pic of me Lunging. ( I am sorry it is so blurry but the only one home to take a picture is my daughter)
When lunging make sure you keep your back as straight as you can and don't bend your back leg. You can either do walking lunges and alternate legs or you can do these bad boys of side lunges! ( again please excuse the blurry and yellow tint my 5 year old is my photographer today!)

On to my favorite the squat
I prefer to do these in the gym.. being as there is weights to push my self.
Today I am doing them at home with no weights... enjoy!
(haha please excuse the awkward butt angle)

When doing Squats make sure you go down as far as you can with keeping your back straight. Remember it is all about the form. once you master the form then you can start doing all the crazy tricks...
I have scoliosis so sometimes all I can do is worry about getting the form down with out hurting me or my back any worse! Im telling you that if you do a bunch of these and your booty will be looking hot! (notice my photographer is getting better... just like if you practice getting your form down you will improve!) Now on to abs...

ABS!
everyone wishes they had AMAZING abs! They take so much work... and trust me my abs are so far from perfect! I am improving just like you. Remember that abs are made in the kitchen.. you are what you eat (which makes me a bunch of cookies and chicken noodle soup and everything else I can put in my face!) 80% of abs are made in the kitchen. 20% are HARD work and dedication and determination! Here are a few  of my favorite ab work outs!  On the left we have a classic crunch... nothing to exciting.. do 100 and you will feel it! On the right we have a plank!(it is important NOT to arch your back!) Hold this position as long as you can and you  my friend will FEEL it! On the bottom we have a bicycle crunch where you alternate bringing your knees up to touch your elbows and working your legs like a bicycle.

EAT healthy and try cut out most if not all the caffeine and try watch your portions! Make sure you are getting enough protein and vegetables Also make sure you are sleeping enough as well as drinking enough water!! My dinner tonight is what I like to call Chicken one pan...
my recipe is get a larger baking dish spray down with coconut oil cooking spray. then place your chicken and desired veggies into the pan and season according to your liking (I like lemon rosemary and pink Himalayan salt and a little butter on the potatoes but not much).. I use carrots, red-skinned potatoes and fresh green-beans. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20-25 min or until chicken is fully cooked. SO YUMMY! (My family eats all Organic and local if we can!)

MOST IMPORTANTLY DON'T GIVE UP!!! I AM GLAD I DIDN'T

This was from Jan2014-Nov 2014 (my progress)
I'd love to hear from you so please comment below!

Hairdresser by day, Mommy by night.

Hairdresser live the life of rock-stars, one min we are creating some awesome"MAGIC" standing on our feet ALL day with the longest hours ever; the next we are meeting new people interesting people, sometimes famous people.

Being a hairdresser truly is MY dream job. I Love it! I learn new tricks and tips and go to neat hair shows try out the best products and I get to fill you in on my secrets along the way. I love making people feel good about themselves, it makes me feel good However on the flip side I have people saying "wait what? There is no way you are a mom!" The answer is YES I am a mom. I have an amazing and somewhat silly 5 year old as well as my part time kids(aka my husbands kids ages 6 and 2) working as a hairstylist its sometimes hard to be the mommy I want to be because like I said earlier about the long hours.

                                            Tryn my daughter

Juggling life and hair is hard work but somebody has got to do it! My daughter is a total DIVA! She loves going to all the fashion shows and hair shows with me and sometimes she tells me what products she thinks I need. Keep in mind she is 5. this girl has hair breed into her veins... I jokingly tell people she was born in a hair salon.

As a working mother it is hard on me and makes me sad because my whole life is split in two, half is in the Salon and half is at home! Lately I have shifted my focus and have ventured into the wedding market, BRIDEZILLAS! (lol kinda joking) I have always rocked an up-do/formal style and now I focus on them! I work with makeup artists, photographers and wedding planners,M.O.B (mothers of the bride) and Best-friends! Its long weekends but there is nothing more satisfying then knowing you were a very important part of their special day. The best part is my week days have cleared up a ton and I get more time to be a MOM! One day I will be the M.O.B and I am going to be glad I had time to focus on my own little bridezilla, watching her grow and teaching her life lessons such as cooking, how to clean and most importantly how to be a mother.

Thank you for reading!

Ammonia-Free Hair Color

Have you ever had your hair colored and it felt worse?!
Like dry and brittle? Like you will have to trim 10 inches off just to have it feel healthy again?

You my friends have not been introduced to ammonia free hair color.
Now a days everyone is into the "healthier the better" most hair lines are developing ammonia free hair color.

Now lets break this down for you...

HOW DOES IT WORK? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR MY HAIR?
Normally ammonia is used in permanent hair colors to produce better and stronger and longer lasting color. Which also means more significant color changes..but how does this produce such color changes? Ammonia partially removes the natural color from the hair shaft, it opens up the surface of the hair strand so that the hair color can get through and effectively lift your hair to the desired pigment so that the color molecules can properly penetrate and deposit.

Ammonia has been one of the main factors responsible  for the hair color to be altered with out rinsing out after a few washes. Ammonia color has some lovely factors that make it stand out...such as stinging the eyes and scalp, and the lovely smell!!

Now with the concerns of harsh chemicals and everyone wanting to go "green" it has caused this industry of hair to change!

You may ask, but how does ammonia free give me the results I am looking for?
Ammonia-free color work by an ammonia alternative called an MEA aka monoethanolamine (a big word for an oil based delivery system) an MEA gently opens and penetrates the hair shaft.
I personally like Goldwell's color line. Goldwell recently launched Nectya which is a form of ammonia free intra-lipid hair color. This line from Goldwell is an oil based color that doesn't add weight to the hair with oils and leaves the hair feeling smooth and healthy and sometimes softer than before!

Before ammonia free colors were not able to achieve the same results, now however we are able to achieve the same lasting results as ammonia permanent hair color, with lasting grey coverage! By using an ammonia-free color you can prevent that dry unmanageable, over processed hair. They are gentler on the hair, with an odor you can manage and little to no irritation.

But don't get me wrong anything you put on your hair if not used properly can cause damage! So make sure you trust a professional before experimenting!!
Next time you see your stylist, weather its ME or someone else ask them about going ammonia free!

One of those days

Do you ever have one of those days where you wake up all happy and ready to have an awesome day, and then one thing throws your whole day off?

I woke up so excited to go to church being that it is a Sunday..(which if you are looking for a church check out my church online!!! So i was FRAZZLED then after church we go out to eat and she dorps her pickle on the floor. Mommy mode was like NO you will NOT eat that after it was on the floor... Husband picks up the pickle and was like stop whining HERE!!!!! (she didnt eat it dont worry) we go to walmart to get some toys to mail back to her sisters back home for their bdays... she whines again!!!!!! by this point im like MOMMY NEEDS A BREAK!!!!!!! (keep in mind hubby and i were fighting due to all the whining!!!)

whooooo ok there was my venting for the day... NOW ON TO MAKE UP!!!!!!

So lately Ive been wanting to fill in my eyebrows...  I have never done it before, but I realize that it is a GOOD THING!!

 This isnt me, but LOOK!!!!

how to tame down unwanted frizz

FRIZZ!!!!

In the time I have been a stylist FRIZZ has come up A LOT!!! I often get the question "how do I tame down this unwanted frizz???"

Often frizz is caused by damage done to the cuticle of the hair, however a lot of women with curly hair have the issue of frizz and unmanageable hair.
Now a days everyone is into homemade remedies... do they always work? Maybe...are they damaging? Maybe... we are going to go over a few and see, also i am going to talk a little about the BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT  treatments.

Is this how you feel some mornings? I use too! I am a hairdresser and I get overwhelmed with my hair too!
(lol that felt good to get off my chest!)

first home remedy:

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse Apple cider vinegar is amazing at helping to smooth frizzy hair, and a plus is thatit gives a great healthy shine.  After shampooing your hair (and completely rinsing shampoo out), pour the apple cider vinegar over your hair(be careful your shower may become a slip N slide).Next let sit for about 30 seconds and then rinse – rinse with cool water (cool water will help seal your cuticle down leaving you with smoother shiner hair). You can then condition as you normally would.  If the smell of the vinegar bothers you, you can add some water to dilute it down.
**I HAVE ALSO HEARD OF PEOPLE SKIPPING SHAMPOO ALL TOGETHER...THAT'S ANOTHER TOPIC SOON TO COME!**

COCONUT OIL:    the second remedy...

Oh man I LOVE me some coconut oil!!! It has so many health benefits. I apply coconut oil to my hair like 2 times a week and let me tell you that it rocks my little socks off!!! I also apply it in my 5 year old daughters hair because she absolutely HATES combing or brushing her hair.. I get in the shower shampoo as normal and the apply coconut oil to my mid-length to ends of my hair then I let it sit and shave my legs wash my face and body and sometimes I even get out with it on my head.. I leave it on about 20-25 min then the slip n slide begins!!! RINSE it out and WALA!!!!! Amazingly soft smooth and shiny hair!!!! I know your probably thinking what one do you use???

Well here it is the one I use... I buy mine at the fresh market and it only cost like 5-7 dollars I think... exact price to follow later :)  Mine is a solid and as i put it in my hands it melts down into a liquid... PLUS THIS DOESNT SMELL AS BAD AS THE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!!!!!!

Now on to the Famous BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT!!!!

I use this system in the Salon I work at and at first I was a little skeptical... just because when I was trained back in beauty school we used the Keratin complex by Peter Coppela (which I thought was the best way ever!!! and the ONLY WAY!!!)

Ok let me start by saying that a Brazilian Blowout  is NOT A KERATIN TREATMENT!!!!
It is NOT a relaxer or a straightening system it is a AMINO ACID TREATMENT made to smooth down the cuticle of the hair and cause tremendous shine and smoothing benefits. The ingredients all come from the amazon and the main ones are ACAI, CAMU CAMU. The system uses Aminos to re-texture and rejuvenates the hair and seals the cuticle down. There is no down time (the minute you leave the salon you can swim, workout, and even but your hair in a ponytail or clip!) results can last up to 12 weeks. The results are truly amazing! (here is some before and afters!!)
So my Hubby thinks I should talk about our family?
Here is a little about us.. We are newly weds.. YAY! I'm still in shock. We have 3 kids together (all from previous relationships) Only one lives with us here in Florida. (we dearly miss the other two!) We are planning a trip back home to visit soon! Hope you enjoy the hair tips! it you want me to talk about something or explain something you guys have questions with COMMENT!!!!!!
